About Peace FC

Peace Football Club aims to be a number of things: a company and a Foundation, a team and a league, and a source of entertainment and information that changes the world.  Sports in general and football specifically bring people together and focus attention on the good and bad in societies across the globe - so Peace FC is testing the theory that football is a reflection of its people and society, that people and societies want to live in peace, and as such, football and sport can help people overcome divides and strife between the sexes, races , classes, tribes, religions, etc.

But mostly, Peace FC is helping answer the question "how can you make peace?"  It's a tough question, actually, since many people live where peace is elusive - or in communities or societies where violence, racism, sexism, corruption and more are pervasitve - and there is not much peace activism.  Or, people live in a relatively peaceful environment and though there is news of all sorts of violence, racism, sexism, corruption, war, cheating - whatever - again, it seems that there is little one can do.  

Peace FC will provide tools that enable peacemaking - campaigns that incite activism - outlets for entertaining and informative activities that illicit change - community development and outreach programs that are compelling - and much more.

Peace FC is:

  • Cause - Making peace worldwide.  Providing tools and resources for peace activists.  And doing this via the Peace FC Foundation - providing funding to amazing people, organizations and campaigns.
  • Content - Our web site will be a news outlet and content provider with a twist - focused on everything that happens in football OFF of the pitch and around the game - and our point of view will relate to how sport and football is changing the world.
  • Commerce - Peace FC is a company built to fund the development of a significant worldwide brand that will sell products (apparel and sports gear) and perhaps more (licensing, publishing, and consulting services). In turn, earnings from these commercial efforts will fund the clubs causes and the Peace FC Foundation, community development and outreach, and content creation and distribution.  Peace Football Club will be transparent about it’s commercial efforts in hopes that the focus is on what is going to the Peace FC Foundation, and the organizations supported by the Foundation.  The company will aim to be set up as a B Corporation as certified by B Lab and a Public Benefit Corporation (to learn more about what this all is see a good New York Times article about Kickstarter and others: see here 
  • Community - There will be a number of active Peace FC communities from Ambassadors to activists, regional leaders, team managers, and more.
  • Collaboration - Peace FC wants to be a platform for peace activism and as such, we want to bring people together around various campaigns and challenges, enabling collaboration and sharing programs that work.
  • Campaigns - Peace FC campaigns are some of the projects that we are taking on (see the Campaigns link at the top of the page) - but we encourage other activists to share their peace-making campaigns and successes on the site so that others can help you or benefit from your experience.
  • Challenges - At it's most basic, making peace is challenging: challenging yourself to change, challenging others to open their minds or change behaviors, spreading the word on the need for change, building communities of like-minded activists, or responding to anti-peace incidents with  peacemaking campaigns.  Peace FC will not only host challenges, we will be a platform for others to challenge the world to make peace - actually, a platform for anyone to challenge anyone else to make peace.  Stay tuned,,,
  • Celebration - Peace FC Peace Prizes will celebrate excellent peace activism, Peace FC campaign participants, Peace FC Challenge winners, and more.  Help us celebrate awesome peace activists so that others can learn from and replicate their success.

Peace FC Goals (Goooooaaaaallllll!!!!)

Peace FC is going for goal.  Specific goals for Peace FC and our (future) global partners include:

  • Community Goal: 1 Million Supporters via Facebook and other social media outlets
  • Commerce Goal:  Tangible market share of the $12B worldwide football gear and apparel market.
  • World Peace:  Yes, it sounds trite thanks to beauty pageant contestants, but Peace FC is organized to attain serious goals - we have great causes (peace and education), we have a rational means of meeting significant goals, and so we are not ashamed to say that we are serious about peace activism and the ultimate goal. (And we know that many beauty pageant contestants are serious about it, too, and we applaud their efforts).
  • Technical Goal: Web site, surveys, challenges, apps, campaigns, Facebook pages, and e-commerce capability - and more - comprising a "platform for peacemaking" - a toolbox for activists.. Beta site is in place - apps are in development - now we just need much better design.
  • Other Goals:  Stay tuned to this space.  Peace FC has a number of other projects in implementation...
